Class 6- Virtual Identities


Your virtual identity is a picture you paint to the world. As discussed in class, your virtual identity is chosen by you and there are many ways to portray your virtual identity and it many changing depending on the social media platform. If you are using a professional plate- form, you portray yourself differently than on Facebook or Instagram.

 As you grow older your view of social media and the internet changes. Your virtual identity grows with, when you are younger you use games like club penguin and star doll, were you create this persona thought a charter. Now in some ways you are still creating this persona but rather then protecting the persona as a character, it's your life and what you want people to see. Now we only show the good things in our life. When we are younger our persona was completely different to how it is now. That, maybe because our view of the internet changes, how Technology advances changes and we mature.

Social media plays a huge part of our online persona. On social media our online persons portrays the positive in our lives. Depending on the social media platform people could view my online persona differently. If someone views my professionally persona, they would perceive all the qualities that I feel would meet the job requirements, but if they view my Instagram and twitter, they would see a different side to me. People highly judge your online persona. So that’s why you need to be careful in what you show the world. Our online persona doesn’t define you as a person but to many people it could because it’s what your choice to show the world.

On my social media I also only show the good parts of my life. This is because personally feel social media isn’t the place to portray the bad things and show the world the ins and outs of my life. Social media is a fun place to express yourself.  So, people might perceive my social media persona as a reflection into to the fun and exciting things in my life. People also might also view my social media as a funny place for me to show my life.

Class 3- meeting the team mates

At first, it was hard making contact with my some members of the team, because we have are from different years and when the module begain we didn't get a chance to talk to on another. What made it easier was that one of the members from my group, was a close friend of mine that I meet thought college.one of our problems was that every time we joined second life in hopes our other two team members would be there they weren't. Class 6- Progress Group Project

Our whole group hasn’t met in person or on second life, but we have discussed the group project in a Facebook group chat we make a few weeks ago. We first decided we would break down the reading that came along with the brief, between each of us and we would meet and discuss our views and opinions. Well doing this in the group chat we have decided what the title and theme of the project will be and what each member is giving a task to complete. One of my fellow teammates got in contact with other people who have completed the course and they discussed the previews projects and how past years found it best to complete the task. By doing this She gained a better inside into the group project and this hugely benefited the group by, giving us some guidance’s into picking a theme. Class 11-Warning

In class this week we discussed the effected we are having on the plant and we also discussed Greta Thunberg view and how she speaks out for us to solve the problem. As humans, we are hugely destroying the plant and many of the animals that share the same home as us. Over the years we have hugely damaged the plant and are running out of time to fix our mistake. We need to make a change sooner rather than later. The amount of plastic we use daily is astronomical. Its simple changes that will cut down the amount of wasted plastic. Small changes can make a huge difference, such as using reusable cups and bottles makes a huge difference. Many people don't want to change and some don't even believe this is happening. The ocean levels are rising because of our overuse of fossil fuals. If we don't make a change fast it will be too late for the people that come before us.
