Class 2- making new friends

So I first picked some random destination in second life. After doing this the first thing I did was cheak if there were many people I could talk to and get to know. The first destination I picked there was none to talk to so I left and decided to visit a beach. There were many people to talk, I first beginning messaging this girl asking "what she is going on second life". Her/ His avatar was bright blue like from the movie avatar. I remember finding it a little weird but I guess, you could be anyone you want on second life.  She told me about how she has been on second life for 4 years and her favourits part is meeting new people, dance and shopping. I find it a little odd that she goes on second life to do everyday activities. She later suggested we go into this building to play a game where I had a chance to win an avatar. I followed her inside where we sat at this machine and she wished me luck. Nothing seemed to be happening for me when we begin playing the game, so I

Class 4- Discussing the brief

In the last post, I talked about how my team made a facebook group chat where we discussed meeting up, in person between classes, but this didn't work out due to the fact that I couldn't make it into college that day. We discussed and decided to meet up the following day on second life. On this day I was on my way home from college and the bus that takes me home was late and because of this, the bus got stuck in traffic. This caused me to miss the group meeting. Which is very disappointing because I was excited about meeting my teammates and actually being able to have a chance to chat about our roles and get to know them more, rather than just texting them in a group chat.  Once I actually made it home I called one of my teammates to find out what was discussed and decided about in relation to our roles in the project. After missing this meeting I felt like I have to make even more of an effort to pull my weight in the group. whisted on facetime with one of the teammates she

Class 3- meeting the team mates

At first, it was hard making contact with my some members of the team, because we have are from different years and when the module begain we didn't get a chance to talk to on another. What made it easier was that one of the members from my group, was a close friend of mine that I meet thought college.one of our problems was that every time we joined second life in hopes our other two team members would be there they weren't. Every time they joined second life to try find us we weren't online. So this made it difficult getting into contact with each other. Once we all joined for class on Thursday, one of our members contacted each of us in private chat on second life. This is where decided we would make a facebook group so we could talk about the brief and plan places were we could meet in person and second life. Having a Facebook group made getting in contact with each other so much easier, due to the fact that many of us have Facebook on our phones. Where on second lif

Overall I enjoyed the first class. Before the class started I spent a little while getting used to how to use the software, e.g changing my avatars apprentices, learning how to walk and finding the class. I found the class very informative into second life, the mind of the creator and how the class will progress in the future. After class Two other students and I began exploring the world of second life. Whilst  Exploring second life we learned a lot about how to travel around, how to call friends, inviting friends to join you and all the different parts of second life. We first travelled to different types of clubs but I didn't enjoy them too much because all the walls were plastered in images and pieces of clothing, that you had to pay for. It was like these places were a way of advertising, to show you what is possible in hopes you would pay for them. Whilst exploring the world we found a venue where you don't have the ability to talk or even call any of your friends. I
